To celebrate this festival, great preparations are made and People shop new clothes, jewellery, and many household items. The ritual is dedicated to showing propitiation and devotion to Lakshimi, the goddess of fortune, wealth, prosperity and the embodiment of beauty. Lakshmi is an important figure in the Diwali festival. The third day of Diwali is the most important day of Lakshmi puja. In the beginning, the houses are cleaned and a rangoli is drawn at the doorstep to welcome Goddess Lakshmi.
