Bhai Phota is a Hindu festival celebrated in the state of West Bengal it takes place every year on the first or the second day of the Kali Puja festival.

On the day of the festival, the sisters mark the foreheads of their brothers with sandalwood paste and pray for their safety, well being and success.Both of the siblings exchange gifts and blessings. The festival is celebrated on the Dwitiya or the second day after the Kali Puja. The ceremony is marked with many rituals along with a grand feast arranged for the brothers. Bhai Phota is a festival that the beautiful bond of love and affection between a brother and sister.
