Govardhan Puja is also known as the Annakut puja which is celebrated to remember the victory of Lord Krishna over the arrogant Indra. It's celebrated on the first day of Shukla Paksha of Karthik month according to Hindu Calendar and on the next day of Diwali festival. It is considered that King Bail was booned by the Lord Vamana to be very powerful. It symbolizes the importance of nature in our lives.
