Magh Bihu is the Assam celebration of Makar Sankranti, with feasting lasting for a week. This festival fall on the end of harvesting season in the month of Maagha (January–February) in Hindu Calendar. Magh Bihu is also called as Bhogali Bihu or Maghar Domahi. This festival is celebrated with community feasts after the annual harvest. People celebrate this festival with great joy and though it must be mentioned that the mode of celebration differs from the villages to the cities.
